Lucien Crochet is a family domaine in the Loire Valley, located precisely in Bué, a few kilometers west of Sancerre, near the village's small church. Gilles Crochet and Laurence Picard, husband and wife as well as winemaker and sales manager, have been fortunate to build their winery on stable historical foundations handed down from the first generation of family vignerons. André Crochet, Gilles' grandfather, played a key role in the qualitative enhancement of the Sancerre area as early as the 1950s, beginning with a pioneering spirit to bottle his own wine and market it in the Ville Parisienne.

Within 30 years, Domaine Lucien Crochet grew and expanded, both in space and in production volumes, becoming one of the most accredited realities of the Sancerre appellation. Today it owns 35 hectares, distributed mostly around Bué, with a few small parcels in the villages of Vinon and Crézancy, on clay and limestone soils dating back to the Oxfordian and Kimmeridgian geological eras. The varieties cultivated are those typical of the production area, namely Sauvignon Blanc (26 hectares) and Pinot Noir (9 hectares), which daily enjoy excellent southern and western exposures and good altitudes, ranging from 240 to 280 meters above sea level.

Domaine Lucien Crochet is carried on with capillary attention in the vineyard and with vision in the cellar, in order to offer vintage after vintage labels that are increasingly enjoyable and easily accessible to a diverse audience. Gilles, who is in charge of agronomic and oenological management, has been able over time to bring to life a personal sensitivity to the land and the vine, thanks to his studies at the Faculty of Oenology in Dijon and subsequent practical experience "in the field" as vignerons in Burgundy. Domaine Crochet currently presents eight labels on the market, all from single grape varieties, but the oenological experiments of Gilles and his very faithful collaborators can only hold great surprises in the near future!
